My novel in this box set is Never a Hostage (Defender Sweethearts Book 2). It is the story of two private investigators who find themselves in a Miami hotel in which some bad guys have taken a former senator, his girlfriend, and a bunch of hotel guests hostage. Pilar is undercover as a housekeeper at the hotel. Cade ends up as a surprisingly decent cook for the captors. Our duo try to survive and make the best of their situation until help arrives. Unfortunately, before the standoff ends, Pilar and Cade, along with a small subset of hostages, get hauled off to a cypress swamp. From the remote resort, our heroes try to escape.
