Summary: Showcasing multimedia book trailers and shorts using Grok Imagine AI, iMovie, Canva, and Adobe Spark.
What’s New
My brand new technothriller iMovie trailer for Zero Out (Binary Hackers Book 3) is published on my YouTube channel! I generated three new Grok Imagine shorts for three scenes in my novel, and then I put them together in iMovie to make my book trailer. I also recreated the same book trailer in Canva for my readers who prefer vertical screens.
For the vertical book trailer that I made in Canva, I also used the same three Grok Imagine video shorts that I had generated.
While iMovie and Adobe Spark were fun while they lasted, Grok Imagine takes it to the next level. I plan to combine that with more Canva videos going forward.
In the last several weeks (summer in August!), I’ve been feeding my book covers into Grok Imagine and then prompting it to create short video animations of my book covers. I had so much fun with it. Here are the book series playlists (for both my romance and suspense series) with a bunch of Grok Imagine videos in the folders. I will get to my other series, such as Defender Sweethearts, soon.

Here are 3 of the 4 books from my Binary Hackers series. The first clip shows Cayson Yang running in the forest while being watched by drones. Find this story in Zero Sum (Binary Hackers Book 1).
In the next novel, Zero Day (Binary Hackers Book 2), Kelvin finds himself in Prague, hunted down as a persona non grata. I wanted Grok Image to let him run across Charles Bridge, but maybe next time.
Zero Out (Binary Hackers Book 3) is the most cyberpunk novel in this series. Iseul and Dario go to a winter wonderland in the Himalayas, but how will they get out from the mountain prison? In this Grok Imagine short teaser, I give you a sneak peek of drones and cyborgs in the novel. Preorder Zero Out on Amazon worldwide.
The forth short shows us Mira and Briscoe in the wintery outdoors in Zero Trust (Binary Hackers Book 4). You can hear a dog barking, and that’s Mira’s Shiba Inu robot dog, their navigator, saying in dog-speak, “This way, humans!”
Technothrillers not your cup of tea? No worries. I also made some other AI videos for the books in the other genres I write, such as city suspense and island romance. JanThompson.com/playlists takes you to my YouTube playlists.
Here’s Private Investigator Helen Hu running down a lane in Oia, Santorini, looking for her missing mother in Once a Thief (Protector Sweethearts Book 1). Why are there cats in the background near the bougainvilleas? Well, former art thief Reuben Costa adopted one of them. He has to save one cat, you know.

Even though Don’t Blink is my last multi-author anthology, I will still do other joint projects with my author friends in the future. You know that we authors are not short of imaginative ideas when it comes to cross promotion and marketing our books.
Don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel to find my book video playlists. Stay tuned for more trailers to come.
