“He who has the Son has life…” (1 John 5:11-13)

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13, NKJV).

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13, KJV).

When God sent His only begotten Son to save us, He had to be separated from holy God in order to carry all of our sins at the cross. The separation between Father and Son must have been devastatingly sorrowful, even though it was only for three days until Jesus rose again and went back to heaven, having completed His unique mission. I am reminded always about Jesus’s sacrifice for me. I am grateful for my salvation in Him.
