Yes, the future director’s cut of Wish You Faith (Christmas Sweethearts Book 1) will be a novel, but for the purpose of our Christmas anthology, Wish You Faith is a novella in the Finding Love at Christmas box set project. I finished writing that edition back in July.
Today, I finally finished writing the extended epilogue, which includes a wedding, for the final solo book. This means that my unabridged Christmas romance novel is finally done. Nonetheless, you won’t see this version until January 2025, but hope you will enjoy the abridged version in the Christmas 2024 anthology.
Why are there two versions? Our box set requires that all books be capped at 25,000 words (or 28,000 words). We have a special promotion coming up that requires this glass ceiling. At least two authors found out that their books want to be longer than that. In fact, my finished book is 73,000 words long. The box set edition ends at the proposal, but there are four more chapters after it. You can look at them as extended epilogues. Furthermore, scenes not central to the main plot also didn’t make it into the anthology edition, including a masked ball, Sunday school, and an extra scene set in Seattle. The anthology edition has the meat of the stories, but the extended edition will have dessert. But desserts are optional, you know what I mean?
