On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, a Christian speaker unashamed of the Gospel, who toured college campuses around the USA to peacefully debate ideas, philosophies, beliefs, and ideologies, was assassinated in Utah at one such event. Today, his body is at the funeral home in Arizona, and his wife, Erika Kirk, posted a video of her at Charlie’s casket. It was heart-wrenching to watch. But I wrote this:
Heartbreaking. But not hopeless. Because Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life. Charlie Kirk’s soul is in heaven with the Lord forever because he believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
“For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens… So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:1,6-8, NKJV).
