Originally, Jan was planning for Zero Out to be the last book in her Binary Hackers series, but thanks to an anthology box set that she participated in, she ended up adding a fourth book, Zero Trust, as a bonus romantic thriller, a novel that tells the extra story of Mira Proskouriakova and Briscoe Hall, the impetus for the rescue mission in Zero Out.
